چکیده

A micellar electrokinetic chromatographic (MEKC) method has been established for the identification and determination of acid-catalyzed proanthocyanidin cleavage products in the presence of phloroglucinol. Using fused-silica capillaries (50=57 cm, 22 kV) with phosphate buffer containing sodium dodecyl sulfate as the surfactant and b-cyclodextrin as modifier, structurally similar phloroglucinol adducts and flavan-3-ols were fully separated.

Determination of proanthocyanidin A2 content in phenolic polymer isolates by reversed-phase high-performance liquid chromatography.

This article summarizes the development of an analytical method for the determination of proanthocyanidin (PAC) A2 in phenolic polymer isolates following acid-catalyzed degradation in the presence of excess phloroglucinol. Isolates from concentrated cranberry juice (CCJ) were extensively characterized and molar extinction coefficients were determined for the terminal A2 and phloroglucinol adduc...

Characterization of Proanthocyanidin Oligomers of Ephedra sinica.

Ephedra sinica, an important plant in Chinese traditional medicine, contains a complex mixture of proanthocyanidin oligomers as major constituents; however, only the minor components have been chemically characterized. In this study, oligomers with relatively large molecular weights, which form the main body of the proanthocyanidin fractions, were separated by adsorption and size-exclusion chro...

A Comparative Study of the Separation of Oleanolic Acid and Ursolic Acid in Prunella vulgaris by High-Performance Liquid Chromatography and Cyclodextrin-Modified Micellar Electrokinetic Chromatography

A high-performance liquid chromatographic (HPLC) method and a cyclodextrin-modified micellar electrokinetic chromatographic (CD-MEKC) method were developed to separate and determine oleanolic acid (OA) and ursolic acid (UA) in Prunella vulgaris. HPLC separations were carried out on a Hedera ODS C18 column with methanol -H2Oacetic acid (85:15:0.3, v/v/v) as mobile phase at a flow-rate of 0.8 ml ...

Separation of 1,4-benzodiazepine Derivates by Cyclodextrin Modified Micellar Electrokinetic Chromatography

The electrophoretic separation of electrically neutral benzodiazepines (BZDs) can be achieved by micellar electrokinetic chromatograpy (MEKC). The cyclodextrin (CD)-modified micellar electrokinetic chromatography separation of eight of the most frequently used BZD was obtained within 15 minutes at + 25 kV on a 64.5 cm x 50 μm I.D. silica capillary at 25C, using a 25 mM sodium tetraborate-50 mM ...

Determination of gibberellic acid in fermentation broth and commercial products by micellar electrokinetic chromatography.

Micellar electrokinetic chromatography (MEKC) was developed as a method for quantitative determination of gibberellic acid (GA3) in fermentation broth and commercial products, using 25 mM disodium tetraborate as a buffer at pH 9.2 and 100 mM sodium dodecyl sulfate as a micellar phase. The baseline resolution (Rs of GA3 from other compounds in fermentation broth was achieved with Rs > 2.5. The a...
